What Each Tier Actually Unlocks
Free is a real evaluation tier, not a teaser — 3 videos a month at up to a minute, with access to Avatar IV, 500+ stock avatars and 30+ languages. Enough to judge whether the avatars suit your brand before paying anything. The watermark cannot be removed, so it is for testing rather than publishing.
Creator ($29) is the first tier that produces usable output: watermark removal, voice cloning, 175+ languages, and credit rollover — unused credits carry forward, which matters more than it sounds if your production is bursty.
Pro ($49) adds 4K export and the full advanced model set. The jump from 600 to 1,000 credits is 67% more output for 69% more money, so it is close to linear — pick it for 4K and the models, not for the credit maths.
Business ($149) is where video length doubles to 60 minutes and you get 5+ custom avatars plus workspace collaboration and SCORM export. That last one is a tell: this tier is priced for corporate training teams, not ad buyers.
The Free Tier Is Unusually Honest
Worth calling out because it is rare in this category. Arcads has no free plan and no trial, and does not publish pricing at all — you create an account before you see a number. TopView lists no free plan on its pricing page. HeyGen gives you three real videos a month, indefinitely.

Where HeyGen Fits — and Where It Doesn't
Good at: talking-head avatar video, voice cloning, and localisation across 175+ languages. If your job is one presenter delivering a script in many languages, HeyGen is close to the category default.
Not built for ad creative volume. The pricing is per-minute-of-avatar-video, not per-ad-variant, and a working UGC ad is 20–40 seconds of several shots rather than one long take. Creative testing wants many short variants; this pricing rewards fewer long ones.
